Tonight will just be a quick hits kinda night, something to break up the mass of wrestling related articles that have popped up. (Which you should check out, even if your not a fan of wrestling. The Joan and Ray have some quality pieces posted). I'm not going to spend a lot of time on the Big 4 sports, instead trying to give my thoughts on stuff we here at PSS don't usually talk about.
- Firstly, a hearty congrats to Rafael Nadal on his historic 8th French Open title. Having spent some of his career in the shadow of Federer, he is not always appreciated for his talents. He is also the first tennis player ever to win a Big 4 championship in 9 straight seasons. This gives him his 12th titles and puts him within range of the record of 17. Should be fun to see if he can do it.
- JUST BREAKING NEWS: Patriots have signed Tim Tebow. Should be a great career move for Tebow, as he can sit and learn in a stable system without pressure from one of the best staffs in the NFL, even reunited him with his old coach, Josh Mcdaniels. Great career move from him and a shrewd signing by the Pats.
- Anyone who is saying the Spurs are done for after the beatdown last night is kidding themselves. Pop is too good a coach to let that happen.
- Another hearty congrats goes out to the US men's soccer team. They had a thrilling 2-1 win over Jamaica, and seem to be heading in the right direction under coach Jürgen Klinsmann. A former West German star, Klinsmann should have the chops to bring the European style to the U.S. Maybe this is what we need to finally realize our socccer potential, but nevertheless, it is a step in the right direction.
And Finally, tonight will see yours truly descend once more into the fantasy world as I join Ray's Goatface Killa and The Joan's Weed the People in Fantasy Wrestling with my own entry, Booyaka 732. It should take me a little while to figure it out, and the Shield help of Joan and the sleeper's from Ray should push me into a decent start.
